• a person whose job is to take care of other people’s children in her or his own home
• someone who takes care of your baby or child while you are out, usually by coming to your home, especially someone you pay to do this
• a person who takes care of a child or children while the parents are out

Child-minder : a person whose job is to take care of other people’s children in her or his own home
